MEET THE FOUNDER

Hi, I'm Karen

I know the heartbreak of watching a loved one struggle with addiction.

Growing up in a family shaped by alcoholism, and later facing addiction in my marriage, I became consumed by the belief that I could "fix" my husband. Like so many family members, I sacrificed my own well-being trying to save someone else.

My turning point came when I found myself in the rooms of Al-Anon, where I quickly learned the hard truth: I couldn't control addiction. I could only heal myself.

But my recovery journey wasn't exactly straightforward....

Where Mindfulness Meets Recovery

During a painful child custody battle, I hit my rock bottom emotionally, desperate to protect my children while lacking the tools and resources to do so. It was during those darkest days of my life that I discovered yoga - a practice that not only restored my sanity but revealed my life's purpose.

When I discovered the work of Nikki Myers (Yoga of 12-Step Recovery) and Tomy Rosen (Recovery2.0),

I saw how yoga could transform the lives of those in addiction recovery. My mission became clear: to bring these same powerful tools to FAMILIES. I become a certified yoga instructor, a Yoga of 12 Step Recovery leader, and later a Recovery Support Specialist to serve families in need of the support I wish I had.

I work directly with individuals as well as addiction treatment providers, therapists, and counselors, offering mindfulness-based programs and services that provide families with the tools they need to heal and thrive. Together we can cultivate a more holistic approach to recovery that supports both individuals whoe struggle with addiction - as well as the people who love them.
